Formerly let to students for many years, this three-bedroomed apartment in a Grade II Listed building in Bath was comprehensively renovated to upgrade the property for rental to a professional clientele. The first major task was to rip out all the antiquated kitchen and bathroom fittings, plus removing a proverbial mountain of dilapidated furniture and detritus left by the previous occupiers.
One the large apartment was cleared; we were able to get a sense of the properties potential and instigate a contemporary interior design scheme throughout. The new kitchen, although quite small, incorporates all mod-cons including washing/ dryer machine, dishwasher, large fridge, freezer, hob and oven. Skilled carpentry made use of the available space to maximise the number of wall mounted cupboards and work surface area. We also added subtle ceiling lights and strips underneath the mounted cupboards.
Similarly, the bathroom was retiled throughout, and a new shower unit and screen was added above the refurbished bath which was of high quality despite its age and deemed worth preserving. A new loo, washbasin unit and towel rail made use of the existing space to create an elegant and functional and luxurious wet room feel.
Following an extensive redecoration of all the rooms including walls, ceilings and woodwork, the whole apartment was carpeted in a Villamoura Granite carpet with extra thick underlay for additional insultation. We also installed new light fittings throughout, upgraded the door and window furniture, before adding matching curtains and rails. The whole project was completed in record time and increased the value of the property by 30%.
